When one thinks of Siena, one immediately thinks of the famous Palio horse race, Italy's most important event of Medieval origins. Siena's historic Medieval center is still perfectly preserved within the impressive city walls.

The Piazza del Campo, the Cathedral, the Church of St Domenico, the Church of St Francesco, the Diocesan Museum of Art, and the Chigiana Music Academy are all within easy reach of each other. The surrounding countryside beyond the city walls is quite simply stunning.
