San Gimignano, Tuscany

San Gimignano is a charming medieval town perched on a hill overlooking the plains of Val d'Elsa, an ancient village which preserves great artistic traditions, with numerous works of art by great masters such as Fiorentino and Pinturicchio. Dante was one of the towns illustrious guests.

Among the many sites of interest: the Cathedral, the Archeological Museum, Palazzo Comunale. The Museum of Sacred Art, the Apothecary of St Fina, the Ornitological Museum, the Church of St Agostino, the Stronghold of Montestaffoli, the Church of St Bartolo and the remains of the Church of St Francesco.
