Livorno Tuscany

From strategic port to prosperous Art city and bathing resort of century old fame.

City of great historical importance with its centuries' old merchant port and industrial work base. Livorno was also the birthplace of the musician Pietro Mascagni, the writer Marrani, and the painters Modiglioni and Fattori, the latter being the principal exponent of the Macchiaioli School.
