Crete Senesi, Tuscany

Moments away from the city of Siena one finds a fabulous and truly unique landscape with a marvelous clay soil. The main town of the Crete Senesi area is Asciano with its Museum of Sacred Art, the Civic Archaeological Museum in Palazzo Corboli and the Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore.

Crete Senesi is home to a great number of terracotta workshops. Local produce includes truffle, Pecorino cheese and the Brunello di Montalcino wine.
