Pian delle More Sassetta - Tuscany

In the little town of Sassetta, on the Tuscan coast between Piombino and Livorno, Pian delle More is a unique rural resort, surrounded by the countryside of Maremma and just minutes away from the sea. Pian delle More was created by owners and expert restorers Lucia and Roberto, inspired by the "discovery" of an old 18th century mill on the site.

Pian delle More is situated in a particularly sheltered position, on the edge of Sassetta's century old chestnut and holm oak woods. The complex offers guest accommodation in eight attractive apartments of various dimension, located in three farmhouses. Each of the farmhouses was built according to latest developments in organic architecture. In all rooms, natural pigments were used to plaster and distemper the walls; citrus oil and milk employed to treat the hand crafted terracotta floors, and petrified wood blocks used to guarantee efficient heat and sound insulation.

Those who enjoy spending time in the great outdoors will love Pian delle More. The extensive grounds of the complex have been designed with both adults and children in mind; with two swimming pools, a play area, and solarium. From the resort there are any number of footpaths and bridle paths leading through the woods and countryside of Maremma.

One place guests should be sure to visit is the nearby Podere La Cerreta organic farm, where to taste and purchase any of an excellent range of typical products. The beaches of San Vincenzo and Bibbona, considered some of the most beautiful in Tuscany, are within easy reach.
