The delightful countryside house "Montorio", enjoys a superb position on a hilltop overlooking the renaissance Church of San Biagio designed by Antonio San Gallo and the whole of the Tuscan countryside of Val d'Orcia.

Within easy walking distance of the center of Montepulciano, the celebrated Tuscan town famous for its medieval architecture and its magnificent Nobile di Montepulciano wine, Montorio is also just a few kilometers away from other hilltop towns such as Pienza and Montichiello and the celebrated ancient spa town of Bagno Vignoni.

The building was constructed in the early 15th century and originally served as a convent. Now a charming country residence, Montorio has 5 beautifully appointed apartments of various dimensions. The "Antonio da Sangallo" is the largest of Montorio's apartments. This 90sqm two bedroom apartment offers breathtaking 360° views of the valley below. A spacious living room with dining area, fully equipped kitchen, storage room and large bathroom offer the maximum in comfort.
The "Agnolo Polizano", accessed by a small courtyard has two double bedrooms, living room with kitchenette, and a bathroom with shower.
Positioned to the Southeast, the "S. Roberto Bellarmino" is a delightful one bedroom apartment with living room, dining area, kitchenette and bathroom with shower. "S Agnese Segni" is a charming one room apartment, perfectly situated to provide a refreshing cool environment in the hot summer months and warm retreat in winter. The "Francesco Redi" apartment is the smallest of the Montorio's guest accommodations accessed by an internal stairway and comprised of small living room with kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom with shower. All rooms are finely furnished and well equipped with modern facilities.

A large terraced area and fabulous Mediterranean garden dotted with cypress and olive trees, provide the perfect environment where to relax in the sunshine and enjoy the views over the Tuscan hillside.

The country residence of Montorio is situated in the heart of the Val d'Orcia, on the immediate outskirts of Montepulciano. From Montorio the attractive little towns of Pienza and Montichiello, and the historic spa town of Bagno Vigoni are all just a few kilometers away.
Montorio is located in a particularly enchanting part of Tuscany, the undulating hillside of which is home to the vineyards where some of the most highly considered of Tuscany's wines are produced. The medieval city of Siena is within easy driving distance of Montorio.

Those travelling from the North along the A1 motorway should exit at Valdichiana and proceed in the direction of Montepulciano-Chiusi. Once at Torrita, drivers should follow indications for Chianciano Pienza and then to San Biagio. Guests travelling from the South along the A1 motorway should take the Chiusi-Chianciano exit from where to proceed towards Montepulciano and on to San Biagio.
