Lucignanello Bandini San Giovanni d'Asso

Lucignanello Bandini is situated in the southern most part of Tuscany, in the tiny village of Lucignano d'Asso. Inhabited since roman times, it was not until the Middle Ages that Lucignano acquired its distinctive urban shape and architectural identity. A document dating back to 1485 indicates that the castle and associated dwellings belonged to the powerful Piccolomini dynasty.

Lucignanello Bandini is comprised of five houses situated within the hamlet, and a farmhouse, now transformed in country residence, just beyond the village. The restoration of the buildings was supervised by Italy's highly esteemed architectural restorer, Paolo Alberto Rossi.

All units feature traditionally Tuscan building materials such as local travertine marble, terracotta, and seasoned wood. The interior decoration is characterised by trompe-l'oeil motifs, hand-painted ceramics, and the use of hessian, canvas, pale jacquard textiles and bright printed cottons.

The houses Casa Amadeo, Casa Remo, Casa Clementina, Casa Severino and Casa Maria, feature traditional Tuscan fireplaces and antiques, and boast delightful views of the village, the church courtyard and the surrounding countryside. A large panoramic swimming pool is situated on the hillside and reserved for the guests of Lucignanello Bandini.

Just outside the village, the 18th century farmhouse, Casale Sarageto, has four bedrooms with private bathrooms, sitting room with large fireplace, spacious kitchen and dining room, a magnificent room for entertaining. The loggia is equipped with barbeque and oven. Casale Sarageto has a delightful garden with private swimming pool.

Lucignanello Bandini is situated in Lucignano d'Asso, a tiny medieval village between Siena and Montalcino. Just a few kilometers away from Lucignano, one finds the beautiful medieval towns of Pienza and Montepulciano, and the old spa town of Chianciano Terme, not to mention the stunning countryside of the Val d'Orcia and the Val di Chiana.

Those travelling from the South by car along the A1 motorway should exit at Valdichiana. Those travelling from the North, should exit at Firenze Certosa from where to take the Rome-bound Via Cassia towards Siena.
