Hotel L'Antico Pozzo San Gimignano - Tuscany

Located in the historic center of San Gimignano, Hotel L'Antico Pozzo is a superb period residence and elegant hotel, which conserves much of the history and legends of this medieval town. Recent subject of an important restoration project, in the middle ages the building was used as a convent in which it is believed that trials for the Inquisition were held.

Today's Hotel L'Antico Pozzo conserves all the charm of the original period residence, its bedrooms reflecting the elegant simplicity characteristic of San Gimignano's patrician town houses. A number of rooms are of evident 18th century inspiration, whilst others are decorated in typical Tuscan style. All rooms feature a pleasing combination of antique furnishings and modern facilities.

Breakfast is served in the hotel's Sala Rosa which, in the 18th century, was used as venue for many a glamorous social event. In warm weather, the pretty internal courtyard transforms in attractive outside breakfast room.
