Fattoria La Striscia Description
Villa La Striscia and its working farm are situated at the foot of the hills overlooking the Tuscan city of Arezzo. The earliest documentation concerning Villa La Striscia dates back to the 16th century, when the frescoes adorning the hall of the building were realized by Alessandro Forzori, pupil of Vasari and Domenichino.
Once the summer residence of the Occhini family from Florence, today the villa is managed by Ilaria Occhini, a well-known Italian television and stage actress known internationally for her work alongside Vittorio Gassman, and Marcello Mastroianni. In recent years, Ilaria Occhini has supervised the restoration of the farm adjoining the villa, transforming it into a superb country residence. Fattoria La Striscia has a total of 5 apartments, the interiors of which are all decorated with pieces of early 19th century furniture which once graced the rooms of the villa.
Immersed amid the vineyards and embraced by the gentle Tuscan hills, in a landscape reminiscent of those painted by Raphael, Leonardo and Piero della Francesca, one finds the open air swimming pool. Fattoria La Striscia has 14 hectares of high-quality vineyards dedicated to Chianti Colli Aretini DOC. The wine is bottled in the villa's stunning underground cellars characterised by massive 15th-century walls and vaulted ceilings. On request, tastings of regional cuisine and Occhini wine are organised.
