Agriturismo Ardene Montepulciano

Just outside one of Tuscany's most stunning towns, Montepulciano, lies the welcoming country retreat - Relais Ardene. The two farmhouses which make up this agriturismo are surrounded by the fields, olive groves and vineyards of the Relais Ardene estate, and have gorgeous sweeping views of the beautiful Tuscan landscape.

The Relais Ardene is a working farm (guests are welcome to become involved in and to learn about its activities), but it is, also, a most luxurious holiday retreat. The buildings of the Relais Ardene have been carefully renovated to provide unique accommodation for up to 14 guests in suites and apartments. The original walnut and chestnut antique furniture and fittings and the traditional fireplaces have been carefully restored. In contrast with the aged traditional buildings and their furnishings, the suites and apartments have every modern requirement - air conditioning, high speed internet connection, and whirlpool baths in the bathrooms, which have been lined with natural stone and mosaics. One of the buildings is also available as a single let for 8 to 10 people. (The lounge area, with its large traditional fireplace, is the ideal setting for a gathering of family and friends).

Outside, in the landscaped grounds, amidst ancient cypress trees, a cactus garden and cascades of flowers, guests can relax beside the Ardene Relais' pool. The ethos of the Relais Ardene is to be as eco-friendly and organic as possible. Organically grown and reared produce is prepared, and baked in the family's wood-burning oven. For breakfast guests enjoy the fruit of the farm, and delicacies made from authentic Tuscan recipes - cakes, bread, jams, savouries.

In the cellars, guests can sample local dishes, the agriturismo's exceptional olive oil and taste the famous wines and spirits of the region - the renowned Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino, Vernaccia di San Gimingnano and Vin Santo.
